Our carbide cutting burs are used for general all purpose cutting in the shop. From grinding off case rivets to brass repair, these cutters work quickly and smoothly on most ferrous and non-ferrous metals including stainless steel, steel alloys, cast iron, etc.
Standard 1/8" (3.175 mm) diameter shaft will work in all of our Foredom Handheld Power Tools or any high speed hand tool. Maximum speed rating 35,000 rpm.
Cutter Dimensions:
??? WHY CARBIDE ??? There is great difference between cutters made from carbide or tungsten carbide and those made from 'high speed' or 'high carbon' steel. High speed or carbon steel is not as hard as carbide and therefore its ability to maintain a sharp edge is drastically reduced. It may work fine for the first few jobs, but as it begins to lose its edge it quickly falls into a downward spiral. |
